cmo019 Silkworm "Libertine" 2x12" + Cd

Out now!

Comedy Minus One's long-awaited deluxe re-issue of the third Silkworm album "Libertine" is finally available in stores worldwide.

This classic record can also be procured via your favorite digital providers.

iTunes : eMusic : Rhapsody : Amazon : Google Play

If you would rather pick up a 2x12" + Cd pressing of "Libertine" through the Comedy Minus One shop, copies can still be ordered here.

Wondering Sound wrote of this expanded, definitive edition:

"Libertine, the third record from indie titans Silkworm, remains as riveting and peerless today as it did on its release 20 years ago. Its tangled guitars and plainspoken vocals feel more like narratives than rock songs, slim, moving short stories capturing odd, specific moments in time in rich, poetic language — journal entries and excerpts of lives in progress, presented with only hints at the surrounding details. The songs obey their own internal logic: guitars scramble and scrape, the bass lurches and collapses, the drums quiver and quake. Two decades later, it still sounds like little before or since: defiantly raw and unadorned, Libertine is indie rock vérité. You enter its world according to its own rules, inside the parameters it has set. And once you do, you get lost inside it."

In a 9/10 rave review, The Line Of Best Fit called it "46 minutes of the best US rock music you’ve never heard. Now it’s time to sort that out."

Preview the remastered "Couldn't You Wait?" here.

If you missed Bottomless Pit on their 2014 Pacific Coast tour, we've got a limited stock of double-sided shirts from that sojourn available in our shop.

The front design (pictured above) is on the chest while the back image is smaller and printed just below the neck. They're black shirts with white ink, using a combination of discharge printing and softhand plastisol for light ink layers. Shirts are by Next Level Apparel and are 100% cotton. High quality and a fine weave.

Order here.

cmo027 Minutes "Roland" Lp/Digital Download

Out now!

If you've yet to check out Kalamazoo's Minutes and their great record "Roland," a video for the song "Stolen Wallet" is a good an entry point as any. Click on the still below to watch it. Directed by Ina Foster-Goodrich.

"There's enough extraordinary rock music on Roland to inspire one to pack the kids and your cat up in the car and move to Kalamazoo, Michigan, just to be closer to Minutes. It's difficult to place, but there's something about this batch of inspired excellence that sneaks up and stirs a whole lotta love within you...Roland is just a special blast of noise out of the Midwest, as uplifting as any no-frills rock music made of late, and Minutes are worth every one." - Exclaim!

iTunes : eMusic : Rhapsody : Amazon : Google Play

The Michigan Independent Network (MIN) has released "Roland" on actual vinyl in a run of 500 copies. Comedy Minus One is stocking limited numbers of this title in our shop. Order a copy here.

While out west earlier this year supporting their most recent album "Shade Perennial," Bottomless Pit recorded a four song session at KEXP, which can be streamed here.

Epitonic has also posted four songs from the band's November 2013 Saki Session, including a blistering cover of Songs: Ohia's "The Big Game Is Every Night."

Comedy Minus One has a Facebook page and a Twitter handle for those of you who dig such things. More frequent bursts of news can be found there or on the Comedy Minus One blog.

Stores and distributors are welcome to contact us about stocking these titles. Comedy Minus One is distributed directly in North America through Carrot Top, Matador Direct and Revolver.

Canadian and European distribution sought.

Thank you.
