We’ve hit the first Friday in October, one more crackerjack “Bandcamp Friday,” where that stellar site waives all their fees so 100% of earnings head direct to the artists you’re supporting.

For this 10th month of the year there are multiple releases we’ve chosen to highlight in addition to what you can explore on our Bandcamp page.

The seventh installment in our Silkworm live series.

This month’s Silkworm live tape is one last Chicago show recorded on May 15th, 1994.

Writes Tim Midyett from SKWM:

“Hey all—this show is a show I actually remember! Imagine that! The gig was two days before the Libertine recording session started. We had just been in a big van wreck and had been driving all over the country to get a replacement van and somehow get to our last couple shows before the session. We were totally, totally fried. Worn out and running on coffee and adrenaline and bad road food. Somehow we got a great record out of it. We only played Libertine tunes, which I recall sorta cheesed off some fans who didn’t get to hear anything they knew. Hey, you pay your money and you get what you get! True heads will note some alternate lyrics here – all of us had a habit of changing stuff at the last minute. I think it was a byproduct of never being able to hear the vocals in practice. We’d hear the vocal take for the first time in the studio and think eh…I can improve that.”

These songs were originally part of 2014’s “Libertine Live,” but have not been available in higher quality than .mp3s previously.
