It is the first Friday in September, a/k/a “Bandcamp Friday,” where that great site waives all their fees so 100% of earnings head direct to the artists you’re supporting.

This month there are multiple releases we would like to highlight in addition to what you can find on our Bandcamp page.

New Mint Mile song + remix.

A brand new track from Tim Midyett and company is also a “Name Your Price” download.

All proceeds from this song benefit Lincoln Square Friendship Center in Chicago.

The remix of Mint Mile’s “Christmas Comes & Goes” from the PRF/BLM compilation is also now on Bandcamp as a standalone tune, with all funds raised being split between Brave Space Alliance and My Block My Hood My City (Chicago).

Joshua from The Rutabega pays tribute to the late Adam Schlesinger.

Writes Josh:

Fountains of Joshua Wayne is a four song solo EP I recorded in honor of Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, Ivy, That Thing You Do, etc) who passed away on April 1, 2020 from complications related to COVID-19. It consists of three Fountains of Wayne covers as well as an original song, Poughkeepsie, that was inspired by Adam’s music and life (based on my admittedly limited knowledge gleaned from interviews and podcasts).

I’m not sure exactly why Adam’s death hit me so hard, but I think at the time it made the pandemic seem that much more real and sinister to know it could take out a relatively young songwriter who was so full of life.”

A percentage of proceeds will be donated to the Sweet Relief Covid-19 Fund which provides assistance to musicians and music workers affected by the Coronavirus.

Edsel’s 1992 debut “Strange Loop.”

Freshly remastered and available digitally for the first time here!

Developer’s Coming Out with the Screws

It has been a decade since the completion of Developer’s Project 52, the crazy song-every-week project by Corey Layman of The Karl Hendricks Trio. To celebrate, Developer has a new album with all new songs plus a bunch of Project 52 songs remastered and sounding fresh.

Finally, if you want a copy of Silkworm’s “Chokes!” EP, you can order that direct off Bandcamp now.

See you this Wednesday, September 9th for our watch party celebrating the 20th anniversary of Silkworm live at the Empty Bottle debuting on YouTube…
